Board of Selectmen minutes from 08-22-07

August 22, 2007 –  approved by the BOS 09/05/07

The meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m.  Present were First Selectwoman, Cheryl Morris; Second Selectman Richard Sullivan and Third Selectman, John Opie.  Also attending were David Doyle, Town Counsel; David Reif, Special Counsel to the Town of Branford; Eliza Cleveland; Pamela Roy; Francis Walsh; Unk DaRos; Gail Chapman; Pam Fowler and Rod Meehan.
 
Motion made by Selectman Sullivan to enter into executive session at 6:07 p.m.  to discuss the pending litigation in the Tabor Drive Eminent Domain case.  Seconded by Selectman Opie.  Vote unanimous.
 
Present in executive session were First Selectwoman, Cheryl Morris; Second Selectman Richard Sullivan; Third Selectman, John Opie and David Doyle, Town Counsel; David Reif, Special Counsel to the Town of Branford.
 
Return to regular session at 6:54 p.m.  For the record no votes were taken while in executive session.
 
Motion made by Selectman Sullivan to ratify the filing of appeals in the New England Estates, LLC v. Town of Branford and the Town of Branford v. Thomas Santa Barbara, Jr. et al case.  Seconded by Selectman Opie.  Vote unanimous.
 
Attorney David Doyle provided additional information concerning the appeals to the audience.  In addition, he stated that the appeal documents would be left with the Clerk, Trista Milici and available for review.
 
Motion made by Selectman Sullivan to adjourn the meeting at 6:57 p.m.  Seconded by Selectman Opie.  Vote unanimous.
