Minutes of Special Meeting – approved by the BOS 3/15/06
7:00 p.m. - March 1, 2006
Walsh Intermediate School
The Board of Selectmen conducted a public hearing to hear comments relative to a proposal concerning development of the so-called “Queach” property. Present at the meeting were First Selectwoman Morris and Second Selectman Richard Sullivan. Third Selectman Opie was absent. Also present were approximately 300-350 residents.
Approximately 60 residents signed up to speak regarding the proposal prior to the meeting.
First Selectwoman Morris called the meeting to order at approximately 7:00 p.m.
First Selectwoman Morris gave a brief overview regarding the conduct of the meeting. Kurt Schwanfelder read a letter from Third Selectman Opie regarding the proposal.
Attorney Alphonse Ippolito gave a presentation on behalf of the property owner Alex Vigliotti. In addition, he presented a power point presentation (copies of a portion of the presentation are attached).
William Horne and James Perito addressed the Board gave a presentation concerning the preservation of the land.
James Finch, Finance Director gave a brief overview concerning financial impacts and financial concerns.
At approximately 8:15 the Board took a brief recess.
The meeting resumed at approximately 8:25 p.m.

Selectman Sullivan made a motion to refer this proposal to the RTM for further consideration. Seconded by First Selectwoman Morris. Vote unanimous.
Selectman Sullivan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at approximately 10:35 p.m. Seconded by First Selectwoman Morris. Vote unanimous.
