MINUTES OF SELECTMEN'S MEETING
December 20, 2006 - approved by the BOS 1/17/07
Senior Center - 6:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Present at the meeting
were First Selectwoman Cheryl P. Morris, Second Selectman Richard
Sullivan, Third Selectman John Opie. Also present were Jack Kerpen,
Acting Director of Public Works; RTM representative Frank Twohill,
Attorney Shelley Marcus, Town Attorney.
Motion made by Selectman Opie to approve the minutes of the December 6,
2006. Seconded by Selectman Sullivan. Vote unanimous.
Motion made by Selectman Opie to move item #3 before item #2. Seconded
by Selectman Sullivan. Vote unanimous.
Motion made by Selectman Opie to enter into executive session at 6:02
p.m. to address pending litigation and pending tax appeals. Seconded by
Selectman Sullivan. Vote unanimous.
Return to regular meeting at 6:08 p.m. For the record no votes were
taken while in executive session. Present were First Selectwoman Cheryl
P. Morris, Second Selectman Richard Sullivan, Third Selectman John Opie.
Also present was Attorney Shelley Marcus, Town Attorney.
Motion made by Selectman Sullivan to approve stipulated judgment
agreements in the Erickson v. Town of Branford, 53 Quarry Dock Road tax
appeal case and approve the proposed settlement in the Grantland v. Town
of Branford lawsuit. Seconded by Selectman Opie. Vote unanimous.

Jack Kerpen, Acting Director of Public Works addressed the Board to
explain the request to waive bid for the purchase of a 2001 Ford F-250.
Motion made by Selectman Sullivan to approve a request from the Public
Works Department to waive bid for the purchase of a 2001 Ford F-250.
Seconded by Selectman Opie. Vote unanimous.

Other - the Board wished everyone Happy Holidays.
Motion made by Selectman Opie to adjourn the meeting at 6:16 p.m.
Seconded by Selectman Sullivan. Vote unanimous.
