2/20/2007
Chairman Scott Thayer called the regular meeting of the Rules &
Ordinance Committee to order at 7:05 pm on February 20, 2007 in Canoe
Brook Senior Center, 11 Cherry Hill Rd.
Roll call
Present: Scott Thayer (Chair), Peter Black, Dorothy Docknevich, Ron
DeFord, James Walker Absent:Anthony Giardiello Also Present: Town
Attorney Shelly Marcus, Town Engineer Janice Plaziak, Selectman Richard
Sullivan, Selectman John Opie, Rep. Dorothy Maynard Agenda
1. Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting: The minutes of the
previous meeting were approved 6-0.
2. To consider and, if appropriate, approve a new ordinance for
collection of the Sewer Use Fee.
Presentation was made by Janice Plaziak and Shelley Marcus of the
ordinance as revised in accordance with provisions for alternate payment
arrangements for those eligible under the state circuit breaker program,
and in accordance with requirements of the State DEP.
Motion to approve the revised ordinance passed 6-0.
3. To consider, and if appropriate, approve a new ordinance for
establishment of a Harbor Management Commission.
No one appeared to speak in favor of establishing such a commission.
Rep. Maynard, Peter Kusterer, and Pete DaRos spoke in opposition.
Motion by Rep. Black to table passed 6-0.
Meeting adjourned at 7:42 pm.
