The meeting was called to order by the Moderator Rep. Reiners at 8:00 p.m. The Moderator led the body in the Pledge of Allegiance.
1. Roll Call.
Members present: Rep. Avitable, Rep. Baker, Rep. Black, Rep. Bodner, Rep. Rep. Bruno. Rep. Chapman, Rep. Cinque, Rep. Docknevich, Rep. Flanigan, Rep. Leonard, Rep. Giardiello, Rep. Greenalch, Rep. Lambert, Rep. Nardella, Rep. O’Donnell, Rep. Reiners, Rep. Rowe, Rep. Sullivan, Rep. Sterling, Rep. Thayer, Rep. Torelli, Rep. Twohill.
Members absent: Rep. Amore, Rep. Brooks, Rep. Hanlon, Rep. Infantino, Rep. Keefe, Rep. Maynard, Rep. Merrick, Rep. Rondinone.
Also Present: First Selectman DaRos, Third Selectman Opie, Town Clerk Kelly.
2. Approval of the minutes of the previous meeting.
The Minutes were approved without exception.
3. Reception of communications (letter from Blackstone Library)
The Moderator read a letter regarding various dates to be held at the Blackstone Library. ( see attachment)
4. To consider and, if appropriate, approve an agreement between the Town of Branford, and the Fire Department Employees. Motion by Rep. Baker, to approve Motion passed. (see attachment recorded votes)
5. To consider and, if appropriate, approve a resolution entitled “RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING $300,000 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A LADDER TRUCK AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUE OF $300,000 BONDS OF THE TOWN TO MEET SAID APPROPRIATION AND PENDING THE ISSUANCE THEREOF THE MAKING OF TEMPORARY BORROWINGS FOR SUCH PURPOSE”.
The full text of the Resolution is on file, open to public inspection in the office of the Town Clerk.
Motion by Rep. Thayer, to waive the reading of the Resolution Motion passed. Motion by Rep. Thayer, to approve Motion passed.(see attachment recorded votes.).
6. To consider and, if appropriate, approve the establishment of an ordinance creating an Other Post Employments Benefits Trust.
Motion by Rep. Sterling to waive rule 4.4.5 2nd by Rep. Lambert Motion passed 15-6. Motion by Rep. Sterling to approve Motion passed. (see attachment recorded votes).
7. To consider and, if appropriate, approve a request from the Town Clerk for the following transfer:
From: 101-4108-408.54-01 Membership & Meetings ( 300)
To: 101-4108-408.58-01 Training & Education 300
Motion by Rep. Chapman to approve, motion approved unanimously.
8. To consider and, if appropriate, approve a request from the Town Clerk for the following transfer:
From: 101-4101-401.58-01 Training & Education (1,150)
To: 101-4101-401.52-01 Ordinances 1,150
Motion by Rep. Chapman to approve, Motion approved unanimously.
