PRESENTATIONS
James Finch, Branford Finance Director, discussed the 2008/2009 budget.
Senator Edward Meyer & Representative Lonnie Reed discussed the State budget and Branford’s state education aid.
DISCUSSION
03 BHS Model Congress Field Trip Requests—Princeton (10/15-17 and D.C. (11/18-22)
Alberto Cintron, BHS Model Congress Assistant Advisor, presented the field trip requests.
Recommendation to full Board (Berdon/Barr). Passed unanimously.
04 Special Education Tuition and Transportation. Mrs. Rosen presented the monthly report on the Special Education Tuition and Transportation.
05 Monthly % Expenditure 2008-2009. Discussion of monthly expenditure update by Mrs. Rosen.
06 Budget 2008-2009, End of Year. Mrs. Rosen reviewed the 2008-2009 end of year report.
07 Budget 2009-2010. Mrs. Rosen discussed the status of the education budget for 2009-2010.
08 Budget Development. Dr. Halligan and Mrs. Rosen discussed the budget development process for the 2010/2011 budget, including strategic goals, Board goals, district goals, etc.
09 WIS Roof Update. Dr. Halligan presented an update on the Walsh Intermediate School Roof Project.
10 Personnel Report. Dr. Halligan reported that the Sliney School Special Education position has been increased to full time due to the special education population.
11 Child-Rearing Leave. Recommendation to full Board (Hotz/Krause) for Lisa Alberino, Walsh, FMLA until January 4, 2010 and Giovanna Carbone, BHS, FMLA and child-rearing until June 30, 2010. Passed unanimously.
