I. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 6:35 P.M. by Chairman John Prins.
II. DISCUSSION:
A. BHS Field Trip Request—Italy, April 9-18, 2010
Teaching & Learning Committee will recommend approval to the full Board for the Branford High School field trip request to travel to Italy, April 9-18, 2010.
B. Draft—Acceptable Use of Internet, Policy No. 6141.321
C. Draft—Bullying, Policy No. 5131.911
D. Draft—Discipline, Policy No. 5114
Consensus to recommend approval of Policy Nos. 6141.321 Acceptable Use of Internet, 5131.911 Bullying, and 5114 Discipline to full Board for first reading.
E. Kindergarten Inventory
Dr. Mary Peraro gave a report on Kindergarten Inventory.
F. Assistant Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Mary Peraro gave an update on all areas of her responsibility, including curriculum and professional development. Topics included: Social Studies Curriculum Committee and Math Curriculum Committee working on their curriculums, Teacher of the Year Committee has selected the 2010 Teacher of the Year, Wellness Committee working on Flu Pandemic Plan and will develop a wellness policy, and Administrators and their secretaries are working on Munis training.
MOTION (Carrano/Watson) to go into Executive Session for the purpose of an out-of-district request at 8:10 P.M.
Passed unanimously.
MOTION (Carrano/Watson) moved out of Executive Session at 8:25 P.M.
Passed unanimously.
G. Out-of-District Request
Teaching & Learning Committee will recommend that the out-of-district request be denied to remain at Mary T. Murphy School.
