01 Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Acting Chairman, Frank Carrano.
DISCUSSION
02 Special Education Tuition and Transportation Report
Mr. Cavallaro presented the monthly report on the Special Education Tuition and Transportation budget.
Special Education is still operating with a deficit of approximately $426,156.
03 Monthly % Expenditure 2008-2009.
Mrs. Rosen presented the 2008-2009 Monthly % Expenditure Report.
04 Budget 2008-2009 Review.
Mrs. Rosen reviewed the status of the education budget for 2008-09. The 2008-2009 budget was discussed.
05 Susan Spear Memorial Fund
Mr. George Spear discussed possible uses of unused funds with Board members from Susan Spear Memorial Fund.
06 Personnel Report.
Ms. Paula Gladdys, Director of Human Resources, reported that Patricia Scully has been hired as Board Secretary. New workers’ compensation TPA has been hired. Workers’ Compensation Trust of Wallingford has been hired as of January 1, 2009.
07 Child-Rearing Leave
Recommendation to full Board of Jennifer Stackpole’s child-rearing leave extension request from
the third week of December to June 30, 2009, returning to work for 2009/2010 school year.
Consensus to recommend approval of the child-rearing leave extension request of
Jennifer Stackpole, health and physical education teacher at Branford High School to the full Board.
2009-2010 Budget Discussion The 2009-2010 and the 2008-2009 budget were discussed by the Personnel & Finance Committee. Areas where money may be set aside to offset expenses was discussed.
08 Horizons Program: Financial Information
The Personnel & Finance Committee discussed financial information about the Horizons Program.
