01 Meeting was called to order at _6:30 P.M. by Chair, John Prins.
02 Moved to Executive Session for Out-of-District Request. No vote was taken
03 Summer Reading Program:
Dr. Mary Peraro discussed the Summer Reading Program. Mary met with
Town librarians, deleted the old reading list. Reviewed input from
Teachers and librarians for a new list Pre-K to Grade 4 and Grade 5 - 8
Books. Required reading will increase to 3 books for students entered in
Grades 5-8.
04 Dr. Peraro discussed Coordinated School Health Committee. The State is
asking for a full Coordinated School Health Committee to be established in
every district. The State has provide information to schools for
implementation of this committee.
05 Discussion of Subcommittee Focus and Name of Subcommittee by board.
06 The Committee will recommend to the whole board the new name for the
education committee: “Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century
Committee.”
The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 P.M.
