01 Meeting was called to order at 6:40 P.M. by Chair, John Prins
Presentation: CMT/CAPT.
Mary Peraro gave a PowerPoint presentation on CMT/CAPT.
02 Policy No. 5114- Suspension/Expulsion: Student Due Process
A discussion of the new language in Policy No. 5114 was held.
The committee will recommend the Policy to the full board for 1st
Reading.
03 BHS Student Survey
Tom List discussed Yale University’s request for a BHS Student Survey.
The committee will recommend to the full board.
04 Out-of- State Field Request
Walsh Intermediate School Dance Team is requesting permission to
Participate in the National Dance Team Competition in Orlando,
Florida. The committee will recommend to the full board.
05 BHS Grade Weighting
Dr. Higgins discussed grade weighting and suggested a change in
system. The C grade in Advanced Placement Courses will now be
valued at 9.75 instead of 7.5, Honors will become 9.0. The committee
will recommend the changes to the full board
A discussion was held on the Summer Program – reading and math
written reports etc. Does it make a difference, is it valuable?
Six school improvement plans should be discussed at a full board meeting.
A suggestion was made to have a special meeting on October 10. 2007 instead of Teaching and Learning to discuss school improvement plan.
A discussion should be held regarding starting date of school.
Meeting was adjourned by Chair, Prins at 8:10 p.m.
