Senior Center – 6:00 p.m.

1.      To approve the minutes of October 7, 2009.
2.      To hear a presentation from the Watershed Partnership.
3.      To approve the following proclamation:
Whereas, Thomas A. Steitz, Sterling professor of molecular biophysics and biochemistry at Yale University, and a long-time resident of the Stony Creek section of Branford, is the Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry this year, and

Whereas, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry is given to those who have increased our understanding of chemical processes and their molecular basis and have contributed to many of the technological advancements we enjoy today, and

Whereas the work for which Professor Steitz is being honored involved the studies and the structure and function of the ribosome, and

Whereas, his accomplishment underscores the critical roles that education, community, and family play in life’s achievements, and 

Whereas, his accomplishment inspires us all to a larger and fuller understanding of the possibilities of the human mind, and

Whereas, we wish to acknowledge Professor Steitz's achievements and the singular honor of winning the Nobel Prize,

NOW THEREFORE, we extend the congratulations of all of the residents of the Town of Branford to Professor Steitz and look forward to further celebrating with him when he returns in December from from the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Stockholm, Sweden.
4.      Green Use:
To consider, and if appropriate, approve a request from Friends of the Blackstone Library for use of the Town Green on September 23, through September 26, 2010 to hold the annual Book Sale.

To consider, and if appropriate, approve a request from the Branford Recreation Department and Branford Jazz series for use of the Town Green to hold weekly jazz concerts on July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, August 5, August 12, August 19, August 26, 2010.
5.      To review an opinion, and take action if necessary, from Town Counsel regarding Squaw Brook Road.
